whichever one of you it is with the voodoo doll, i wish you'd cut it out.

i developed a mysterious sharp pain in my back around 10am, that doesn't appear to have anything to do with the way i slept or the chair i'm sitting in.

in fact, i slept quite well last night, considering that i didn't actually get to sleep until nearly 3am. at about 11:30 last night, i finished helping my brother with his poetry homework (they were given a list of meters and had to use the internet to find examples of that meter in poetry), saved it to a floppy disk on my computer, and he took the disk to print the document on my parents' computer, which actually has a printer connected to it at this time. problem: the file wouldn't open. diagnosis: due to the fact that (a) my brother is a 12-year-old male, and (b) that he carries this disk back and forth to school in his pencil bag, it's probably the disk's fault. at this point, my brother started crying because this was the second time he had done this particular assignment anyway (long story), and it was nearly midnight, and he still had to study for an exam. i had resumed my playing of Grandia (which i had been doing before being asked by my brother to help with his homework), but my mom, unable to fix the disk or open the file, called me in to redo the assignment for him.

i had several ethical (and other) objections to this, but i didn't really feel like arguing with my mom, who kept saying that it didn't matter because he had already done the assignment, so it wasn't as if i was keeping him from learning anything by doing it for him this time. besides that, i think she blamed my computer for the disk not working properly. so i paused my game, about 5 minutes past the last save point, and it took me about 20 minutes to redo what my brother and i had spent about 2 hours doing, and i went back to playing my video game under the assumption that i would soon come to a save point and i'd be in bed by 12:30 or 1am at the latest.

boy, was i wrong.

apparently i'd just entered one of those phases of the game where, for no good reason, it's bleeding eons between one save point and the next. i'm surprised i managed to keep my characters alive to the next save point, to be honest, mainly because i was so tired that i was making some poor battle judgments. but i did manage to find the next save point at about 2am, which is when i went to bed.

and then i couldn't sleep.

and now today my back hurts like hell.

Damn it, I attached it to the wrong person.
