blah blah good movie blah blah nitpicky inconsistencies...

Did anyone else notice Gambit's name (Remy LeBeau) on that computer screen Mystique was looking at, just above the name she selected?

And what's with the The Once and Future King references? Have any of you actually read it? *goes off to look for summaries*

Magneto was also reading it in his plastic cell. There may have been more references that I didn't pick up on because I haven't read it, but I have already put the wheels in motion to rectify that. ^_^

Maybe extracting the metal from the guard's bloodstream was akin to pulling Excalibur from the stone?

And yes, there were a whole ton of references to other mutants just like in the first movie. IMDB's trivia section has the whole list of the names from the screen where Gambit's name appeared and who they are in the Marvel universe.
Don't forget good old Dr. Hank McCoy being interviewed (and notably not blue).

Unfortunately, since all the Marvel universe movies are from different production companies, you're unlikely to see Spiderman, Daredevil, Hulk, or any other non-mutant heroes/villains hanging out with the X-men (or each other)...

IMDB trivia section? Ooh, sounds like a fun waste of time, I'll have to look into that. I didn't notice the Hank McCoy thing (though Beast was never my favorite character anyway)...

Crossover-type stuff would be cool, but I'd feel a lot better if they'd just avoid mucking about with each individual universe. This generation-mixing in X-Men is still a nagging annoyance for me. Not enough so to interfere with enjoying the movie, but nagging nonetheless.

There is so much inconsistency in the comics themselves (from different writers'/artists' interpretations), and restarting of stories, and clones, and time travelers, and clones of time travelers, that it's much better to create a new story that's internally consistent.

I never said I wouldn't complain no matter what they did... ^_~
