It's been so long since I've been chatted up...

So this afternoon I had to take my grandfather to get some new tires for his trailer. There are these two guys who do odd jobs for my grandparents: a black guy in his 40s named Leo, and a white guy in his 60s named Nettles (Yeah, that's his last name. He's really creepy. He's a drunk, he doesn't shave or bathe regularly, and he's always telling me how pretty I am. Eugh.). They took my grandfather's truck with the trailer attached, and my grandfather and I followed them in my car to this little tire shop on the southbound I-35 service road between Ovilla Road and Red Oak Road.

The guy who did the tires was Chris. I noticed he wasn't bad looking, but I didn't really pay much attention otherwise. But as we're about to leave, he says the tires on my car look a little low, and offers to air them up for free. As he's doing so, he comments that I have nice-looking tires (meaning, he could tell they were bought new, not used). And they make a comment about the fact that I drive a Volvo (which is seen as a "fancy" car, even though mine is 12 years old). Then he asks me if Melvin (that's my grandfather) is my dad. And I tell him that he's my grandfather, and I leave.

Not long after I get back to my grandparents', he calls on the office phone, asking if my car drove better with the tires aired up. He must have seen the face I made, because the next thing he asked was if I was single, and if I wanted to go out sometime. I suppose I could have lied, but I didn't. And from that point, there's so much to say that most of you won't really get, so I'll stop there.
