In case people reading this didn't know, I am a Texan, and I love it… - love like me ・ 日記
non solum memento mori, memento vivere sed etiam
In case people reading this didn't know, I am a Texan, and I love it here. Well, I love it here, considering that I'm not gay, and I pass for either white or Latin American depending on what you expect. I'm a fiscal conservative, but a social libertarian, in the true sense of the word, which probably makes me a social liberal in the political sense.

Apparently, last week the Texas House of Representatives passed a bill that makes it law, not just policy anymore, that gay people (not just couples, but gay people) are not allowed to be foster parents. Not only that, but if anyone has foster children and is found to be gay, these children will be taken away from them. Granted, it still has to pass our Senate and get the Governor's signature before it becomes law, but... Well, I don't believe gay people are allowed to adopt children in this state anyway...

Sorry, I don't even have a coherent rant in me. I just keep sitting here shaking my head.

There is no coherent rant you can make. My God some people are a waste of space.

It's rather sad to know of gay people who have gotten married simply because they wanted to have children, and didn't want to move to a state that would allow them to adopt them. Thankfully, they can't yet take away someone's natural children just because one or both parents is gay...

Married to someone of the opposite sex, I mean. Otherwise it wouldn't be legal.
