s2less s2
I know leon has been trying to figure out how to make a journal layout in the s2 style system without having to learn all the confusing and useless s2 coding...

So here, for the benefit of anyone who can do nifty things with CSS but doesn't want to learn new stuff just to use s2, is info on a layout that is essentially completely basic, but there are no tables and there's a class defined for practically everything. The guy (person, animal, alien, whatever) who made it calls it CSSerole.

The instructions there are for how to add an external stylesheet, but if you want an internal one it's really simple to do that too. Simply create a new theme layer in the layer browser with the parent layer being the layer you put the CSSerole code into, and add the following:

function Page::print_custom_head()  {

""";  }

Have fun.

Well, since you've got the source, you can always edit the layout layer if you need to change something...

There's a link in the comments to that post to someone else's similar layout that might work better for you, and with a little digging in the s2 communities it's possible to come up with some other non-official layouts that people have made public that do this same sort of thing, but I can't remember any of them off the top of my head, because I think I'm probably going to use one of these two if I decide to go that route.
