I really love this cat.
He must miss me when I'm gone 12 hours a day for work, because when I'm home, and especially on my days off if I'm home all day, he spends most of the day sitting with me. Not on me, because he's not a lap cat, but he sits next to me, purring if I reach over and pet him. It's really nice, and almost makes up for having to clean out the litterbox twice a day because he's so damn picky about it that if there's even a chance he might have to touch anything that's already in there he craps on the bathroom rug instead. He must like crapping on the bathroom rug, because one day last week the litterbox was too full for his liking, and I had just washed it so it was still sitting on top of the dryer, and he crapped on it there.

I've asked my parents for an automatic litterbox for Christmas.

Is your cat fat? LOL. I generally don't like cats at all, because they usually know I don't like them and scratch me. But if I luck out and I find a really fat cat whose belly is soft and nice, I will rub it and usually the fat cat will like me. But if it is a skinny cat, I probably won't pet it and then it usually will scratch me.

This has no relevance at all really to your post, however I was hoping your cat could be slightly overweight and thus have a greater chance of me liking it. ;)

No, he's not fat, but he's got a bit of a belly on him. Unless you're looking for it, though, he looks skinny. But he's very sweet and loves people (my dad doesn't like cats either... the only person he's scratched is my brother, and that was because he was pestering him repeatedly). He really hates other cats, though, as we've repeatedly determined from having to have him stay with a friend, and also from me cat-sitting for my sister. He loves having his belly rubbed, though. Most cats, in my experience, don't.

He's also relatively hypo-allergenic, since my mom can't be in my sister's house (she and her boyfriend each have a cat) for more than 5 minutes without getting all stuffy and red-faced, but she doesn't have a problem with my cat. We had dogs growing up, and while I love dogs, they're just not suited for living in an apartment, or for being left alone for long periods of time.

Plus the pointy ears are cute. ^_^

*dying from the cute*

My cats would play impromptu games of field hockey with their dung if it wasn't changed regularly. It was quite disturbing.

Be careful though... I had bad experiences with two different automatic litterboxes... one just didn't work - the other... well, it decided it liked to spear the poops instead of dragging them... yeah... it's as ungross and wonderful as it sounds.

My friend has one and it works great, as long as you keep enough litter in there. Otherwise it does that spearing thing. LitterMaid brand, I think.
