Since I have so much trouble getting things done on my days off, and since I didn't do anything at all yesterday, I am making a list here of what I need to do today, since apparently I have no self-discipline and I won't do things unless I'm accountable for them in some way.

    Today I will:
  • Take out the trash
  • Do laundry Done enough to suit me. Two loads should last me a week.
  • Clean the litterbox Done!
  • Pick up that package that's been sitting in my apt complex office for a week now Done!
  • Check the mail (I'm really bad about not checking the mail unless I'm expecting something) Done, but my debit card still hasn't arrived yet, so...
  • Go to the bank and get them to find out where in the hell my debit card is and why I don't have it yet Done, and they said I should have my new card in 7-10 business days, but I have absolutely no faith in that. Way to go, Washington Mutual!
  • Clean the toilet
  • Wash a few dishes
  • Sweep the bathroom/entryway

More things may show up here as I think of them.

You and me both! I'm the exact same way, sorta. I have Thurs. off, too.

I just woke up about 30 minutes ago, and where am I? On the computer! Gah!

I also need to do laundry, clean the toilet (and bathroom! it's gross!), and dishes. Ugh. It seems like housework never ends, ya know? As soon as I clean up (sweept and mop as well), my roommate gets everything gross again the next day. GRR.

I'm worse, because I had yesterday off too, and I didn't even get up until about 1:30, and then I didn't do anything productive at all...

The good news is, when you live alone, you can go a little longer in between cleaning before it gets gross, because you're the only one using the place every day. The bad news is, it's always your turn to do all the cleaning, and you know that if something gets gross it's your fault. That's really the worst part about living alone.

I would rather live alone so I know the mess is alllll my fault/problem. I always clean up after my roommate. The only thing he does is vacuum maybe once in a blue moon. wtf. His side of the apartment is usually pretty gross. I won't even mention what his bathroom looks like. *shudders* I wish he would help keep the common/shared areas clean... but since I don't have a job I'm usually the one cleaning after class. Meh. Good practice, I suppose. Never had to do this when I was living with my parents, so I guess I'm getting pay back now. Hah.

And to think... I'm moving soon with the same roommate, but we'll have two more roommates (one is our friend and the other may or may not be our other friend depending on the availabiltity of the new apts. and if he can find a job here before we move)!

Well, you're perfectly within your rights to bitch about roommates not helping to keep common areas clean. But people have different ideas of what constitutes "clean"...

If it comes down to it, the kitchen is way more important than the bathroom, IMO. I keep the litterbox in the bathroom, so there's always cat litter tracked all over the floor in there, but I'm willing to deal with it because it makes it that much easier to clean the litterbox (yey for flushable litter!). I just sweep whenever it starts to piss me off. Also, that spray stuff they have for using after you take a shower is amazing.

Yeah, I know. My parents are maids, so "clean" to me means "ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS" and my parents would kill me if they saw my apartment right now. To me, the kitchen is absolutely disgusting, but to Matt it's "clean." The hell?

Yes! I have that shower spray stuff. Fun! I shed a LOT of hair (not just the hair on my head, but body hair); my hair is dark, and the tile is white, so it's very easy to see and gross. It piles up in the corners, the sink, the bathtub. Ugh.

numa, numa, iei!

Is there anyway you might be able to tell me what's going on here ( http://grassroots.hp.infoseek.co.jp/nomaneko_img/nomaneko02.swf )? I like "Guernica Man," and the thingy as a whole is really addictive, but still...

Wow, that's CUTE!

Okay, well, what is going on there is kinda like what is going on in this video (only not quite so silly). Basically they changed all the lyrics (after the credits; before that it's just the lyrics spelled phonetically in Japanese) to what it sounds like to a Japanese ear, whether or not it has any bearing on what the song actually means.

For example, that scene where they're drinking beer, if you could read the words that are flashing on the screen, it says "nomu nomu yay!", and "nomu" means "drink". ;)
