Murphy's Tuesday
気持: ><
Yes, everything that could possibly go wrong today has. While the managers are on vacation.

The flagpole fell over AND a gutter blew off in a thunderstorm (tainted touched-the-ground flag is sitting here on the desk). The fire alarm is going off for no reason. The gate keypads... well, one isn't responding and the other simply says "this device is out of service". The gate refuses to open for anything besides the remote/clicker thingy. There's a malfunctioning breaker on the box that controls the exterior lights at the back of the property. I had to shut up shop to go to the post office, and someone was waiting when I got back. AND the fax machine is being a cantankerous bitch.

All of this before 10am. It's 11am now, and I've got some of that sorted (or at least I've called the appropriate people).

Still left to do: walkthru/property inspection (for which I have to shut up shop again ><), filing ><, resetting the gate controller (if I remember how ><), and if resetting the gate controller doesn't work, calling the manufacturer for help (double ><).

No, nothing's going on in my personal life at the moment. Thanks for asking. I'm so stressed out today I keep screwing up my knitting. ><

Oh yeah, and there's this one spot on my back below my shoulder blade that is so sore it's burning.

Today's post brought to you by the HTML entities > and <.

How bizarre. I wonder if there was a lightning strike, given how fried the gate appears to be.

Do you normally have thunderstorms in what is still winter (isn't it?)

Around here March isn't normally still winter. We have thunderstorms with some frequency from about March-May.

I might fault the thunderstorm but the gate was apparently working fine this morning, because when I got here at 8am people were stuck inside, and they couldn't have got in there unless it was working. The thunderstorm quit at about 2am.

Hm, wierd. I did think, after I commented, that you're far enough south that the season's probably changing now.
