My a/c is busted, it's bloody 104℉/40℃ outside (and not much cooler in here), and apparently maintenance can't be arsed to do anything about it! I left a message this morning on the maintenance number, which is supposed to automatically page a guy who theoretically then calls you back within a few minutes. I didn't get a call back. The leasing office opens at 1pm on Sundays, so I just called them, and didn't even get the machine this time. I hung up after about 15 rings.

Not much else to say, really.

EDIT 1:15PM: I called the office again and got a person, who seemed surprised that maintenance hadn't showed up yet or even called me. She said she'd call him, but it'd probably be about an hour... But it would be today.

EDIT 4:35PM: I've called once every hour since the last edit, and every time I've been told, "he's working on someone else's right now; he'll be over to do yours next." I called again just now and the machine picked up immediately, meaning they've closed the office down early...

EDIT 5:30PM: Somebody finally showed up! Yey!

So now I have to know... did it get fixed? Ever?

He was here for about an hour doing various things... Changing filters, recharging coolant, changing fuses... None of that worked. He said he figured all that was left that could be causing the problem was the thermostat, and he'd already used up his stock replacing other people's thermostats, so he'll be back tomorrow.

...but given their track record with fixing things when I'm not home, I'm not holding my breath. Here's hoping calling them in the morning and giving explicit permission to enter my home without me present will do the trick, otherwise I'll be without a/c until Friday. ><
