am i the only person in the world who only cuts their hair when it starts to be an unbearable irritation? or does everyone else just have a lower tolerance for irritation than i do? or am i just a lazy cheapskate? hmm...

I enjoy getting my hair cut. I like watching the stylist cut because it is a skill I have never acquired. I also like the fact it looks so damn fantastic when it is styled properly.

i never enjoyed getting my hair cut. i do enjoy having someone else style my hair though, since that's something i can never do properly myself. in high school i looked forward to the flurry of banquets every spring, since i always went to at least one of them, and this was a good excuse to splurge on a fancy hairdo. maybe someday i'll scan a pic of my most spectacular one, my sophomore year...they piled my hair in curls on top of my head and pinned fake jasmine flowers in. i got loads of compliments, well worth the $80 i shelled out for it.

That's the benefit of not being expected to have fancy haircuts (males) - $80?? Mine's £6.50 (which is probably $9-10) and then there's whatever extra cost there is in putting wax/gel/whatever on it, which is a comparative amount to any styling you'll do.

Most I've known someone to spend on their hair is £100 - which is just silly money.

for that $80? she didn't come anywhere near me with scissors. that was all for the curling iron, hairspray, and bobby pins.

Man, stylists never style my hair right. Not even the girl who I'd known forever, before she was a stylist. Most can cut it the way I want it, but for some reason they can't seem to grasp the concept of "blow-dry". No, they have to put gel in it, then blow dry it in a certain special way, then put spray on it, and try to make it as big as possible!! My hair is SHORT SHORT SHORT!! If I wanted it big, I'd not cut it short!! Another thing they like to do is assume that when I describe the style I want it cut like, that what I really meant was the latest style of whatever length I'm going for. No, not the latest style, please. The style I *asked* for. I don't care if The Legend of Billie Jean is cool again, I don't want my hair like that.

I think hairdressers are the ones who have convinced men that they have large wangs. Because if I ask them not to cut more than an inch off, they invariably cut off 3 inches.
So, in their world, that was a 12 inch penis.

Oh that reminds me, back to the entry I was makin...

I didn't cut my hair for about 4 years at one point. Now I've sort of decided I like this style (even though each style is slightly different from the one before). I also have enough money to pay the costs of the haircut/colours, which probably contributed to the four year gap.

The other thing I like about my salon is they do loyalty points, so I'm now getting the cuts free. :-)
