okay, i forgot to post something when this actually happened, but i am a bad enough student that my bad-student-ness was mentioned on our last Japanese test (last wednesday). in the last chapter we learned how to do quotations, like how to say "he said '[whatever]'" and "i think that [whatever]" so there was a section asking stuff like "did she just say that [whatever]" and "do you think that [whatever]?" and one of the questions read: "ヘルトンさんは今日の日本語のクラスへ行くと思いますか。" which means in english: "do you think helton-san [me] will come to japanese class today?"

of course, i wrote down "いいえ、ヘルトンさんは今日の日本語のクラスへ行かないと思います。" ^_~

Did anyone else get いいえ、ヘルトンさんは今 instead of whatever Japanese characters were supposed to be displayed?

Just me?

[And if the いいえ、ヘルトンさんは今 is Japanese on your screen - somehow - it's just block squares here]
